June Pride DJ’s Of the month: Chemical Brothers
Trying to get a decent music video from youtube these days is a pain in the ass. Why is that? Because, they want every & all artist to be signed to their new company called Vevo. By having a Vevo account there are on two seperate sites with more tactical advertising than a FBI home invasion. The Chemical Brothers are set to release a new album. Their first in 6 years. (technically). Luckily for us (& you) Twit vid doesn’t play those games, yet. So below we have 2 of our favorite videos by this mixing, dj’ing duo. Next week we will have our full review of their new album plus more background bio.

May 2010 D J of the month
MOBY (Yes Moby is back!!)
“Wait For Me (remixes)” , is the first release from DJ/Producer Moby since …. Well last year.. Apparently Moby released the original “Wait for Me” in 2009. It didn’t get much exposure in the states mostly due to its sober & melodic sounds. This was an album made purely from Moby Land in a world of Gaga & Kesha tunes. So it isn’t really surprising how it turned out. Moby was born Richard Melville Hall in 1965 in New York. The nickname Moby was given to him by his parents in tribute to his ancestor Herman Melville, the author of the legendary tale “Moby Dick.” With that type of blood line he was certainly meant for greatness. But the beat must go on & so Moby has been hard at work making more socially understandable beats to align with his lyrics. We will have a full review of his new version of last years work. When the album drops May 18th! Check back!
April 2010 DJ of the Month DJ AFFECT

Anyone that is friends with Rapper PitBull is of course friends of ours! Miami is clearly Mr. 305′s headquarters & if there was a white house in Miami DJ Affect would be the resident Dj! He understands the Latin / Urban vibe that has been jumping off out of there since the 90′s. He has worked with many of Dade county’s finest & has made the parties jump into the skies during spring break & more. At the age of 12, after a sporting injury lead to the discovery of a bone cyst preventing any further participation in sports, Affect turned his attention to spinning records. Clearly this was a choice that has worked out for the best! Affect haas has the opportunity to work with greats such as the late Notorious B.I.G., Big Pun, Diddy, Mobb Deep, DJ Clue and Funkmaster Flex; and appearances on shows such as BET’s Rap City and The Basement, DJ Affect has only scratched the surface of what’s to come. His ability to capture a nostalgic trance with today’s beats and yesterday’s hits, tapping into disco’s energy coupled with R&B’s smooth vibe, commands the feet of music’s toughest critics. We at CMB will continue to watch & keep you guys updated all year long!

March 2010 DJ of the Month
DJ Rekha
She may not be well know but you most likely have heard her music in a club or a movie. With Bollywood slowly taking over in the states it has become more ordinary to hear the blended sounds from India. Blended being the operative word. Rekha’s blends of house & beautiful bolly melodies is something of a musical delicacy. This is nothing new to the people of India. They have had their music put to many sounds for decades & in just the last 15 years put to house & techno. In the last 10 years it was blended of hip hop after Jay Z used a indian woman’s voices to emphasize the beat in a song. Yes, it seems India is going to provide more than just hot curry to bring the heat. Check out Rekah’s Myspace Page by CLICKING HERE & listen to her crazy music Blends. You can listen to her first solo album “Basement Bhangra” & purchase it HERE!

February 2010 Dj of the Month Kay Slay
Not a fan of Big Booty shaking music? Then you may not want to be Slayed. But Mr. Kay has been in the business for awhile & his latest release “More than Just a DJ” is his Golden Moment. If you are fan of real street hip hop this is for you. Honestly listening through the cd is most likely for the 30 & up crowd. The generation brought up on Biggie, Jay z & Tupac. Not one track is cookie cutter or would fit effortlessly into the radio play of today. Songs like Gangsta shit & Layed out would have flourished if it was 8 years ago. Not that they are not any good. In fact t is the oppisit. The songs are good, they just don’t fit the robo voiced , danced blended “hip hop” we currently have playing on repeat. Allot of Big Names came out in support but they are big names in that community so even if we repeated all of them & there are allot. They would be lost on many of you. Except maybe Busta Rhymes & Ray J. All in all it is a good playlist put on disc.
